Gretna hires New Orleans company to collect on delinquent tax bills

Friday, May 20, 2011 – Times Picayune – Gretna is joining a growing cadre of local governments that are turning to a New Orleans company to help track down property tax scofflaws.

The City Council authorized Mayor Ronnie Harris to hire Archon Information Systems LLC to go after property tax owners who are delinquent on their bills and persuade them to pay up. The New Orleans company also will handle the paperwork to arrange tax sales of property for owners who refuse or are unable to pay.

Bryan Barrios, CEO of Archon Information Systems, has completed the certification program of the prestigious Louisiana Police Officer Standards and Training Council (POST) Academy.
